Marlies' Presentation & Workshop during the Nondual Wisdom & Psychology Conference at CIIS in San Francisco
Please join Marlies at the Nondual Wisdom & Psychology Conference at CIIS, March 1-4, 2018.
Overview of Marlies' Presentation & Workshop during the Nondual Wisdom & Psychology Conference at CIIS in San Francisco.
I am so excited to be invited again to this conference. I will be giving a one-day Workshop, a Presentation and participate in a Panel Discussion.
We’ll dive into how healing relationships help us to awaken to the wisdom of non-duality. We will look at the therapist/client and the teacher/student relationships. How awake are we in these relationships? How much do we trust our inner teacher? We are in the process to come out from under the patriarchy. We are so conditioned to give away our power and wisdom to some person sitting on a stage. We abandon ourselves. We hand over our light and power to someone else. How does that happen? We are mirrors for each other. We are one and the same. Do you truly see and deeply know that?
Join me with many others in this in-depth exploration. If you are not familiar with this cutting edge conference please click www.ciis.edu/ndw. Please see below for more links of the schedule, teachers and registration. All presenters are leading therapists and teachers who are exploring the confluence of non-dual wisdom and psychotherapy.
How does psychotherapy change when therapists and clients awaken to and embody their true nature as open, lucid awareness that is essentially not separate from the whole of life? If you are a psychotherapist, counselor, healer, coach or a student or you truly are interested in this subject, this is your conference!
Friday, March 2
10:00am - 5:00pm
'Drinking the Transformative Power of Healing Relationship'
One-Day workshop - with Marlies Myoku
What are the ingredients of a healing relationship? There are many forms of relationship that affect us. This begins in our relationships with our childhood caregivers and is followed by relationships with many others. At some point there seems to be a person who stands out. This can be either a parent, a therapist, a teacher, or a friend. This person has something special. What is that? As a student of therapy, a licensed therapist, or a teacher, how can you be that special person for someone? How can you be with your client/student so they blossom into the beauty they truly are?
This workshop consists of teaching, experiential exercises, and sharing about the therapist/teacher, client/student relationship.
Sunday, March 4
4:00 - 5:30pm
'Bringing Non-duality into the Healing Relationship'
Presentation with Marlies Myoku
Being a non-dual therapist or teacher requires that we rest as Presence with our clients or students, trusting how the meeting wants to unfold. Our mind may wonder: How do I do that? How can I learn this? Resting as Presence, we receive everything, let go of expectations, and step into the Unknown. With these key ingredients, a natural healing emerges. Join this session to play with sitting as the therapist/teacher with the client/student while resting as Presence.
Also, on Sunday, March 4
1:15 - 2:45pm
'Relating: Twoness as One, Oneness As Two'
I’ll be part of a cutting edge Panel Discussion
Panel Discussion with Marlies Cocheret, Kaisa Puhakka, and Riyaz Motan, moderated by Carey Cloyd.

Hope to see you there, or at any other event,
A letter from Mary Raftery
Dear Sangha Friend,
We are all so relieved that Marlies’ transplant operation last week went well, and that she is on the road to recovery and good health!
I’m so very grateful to Marlies for all that she’s given me—she has given me back my life! That sounds dramatic, but with Marlies’ teachings, counseling, and Presence, I am more awake and alive in my life than ever before, more honoring of my true Self and my needs...and I have a lot more fun!
And, I’m grateful that the transplant has given Marlies new life, and for this chance to be able to give back to her.
With the expenses of the transplant and the recovery time when she cannot work, this is a time when I know I can make a difference. My $1,000 donation to Deep Water Sangha to support her recovery is a unique, joyful and life-affirming opportunity to contribute to Marlies’ well-being in appreciation for the many gifts she’s given me.
I invite you to join me in the true pleasure of giving back.
If you feel moved to give back to Marlies in this way, any amount can help— $10, $50, $100, $500 or whatever you can give— it can help give Marlies the time away from work for her body to mend, and help with costs that insurance does not cover— to help her body make a full recovery and to support her spirit in stepping into this new experience of Presence.
To donate and support Marlies and our Deep Water Sangha by check or Paypal:
Your tax deductible donation helps our whole community—in retreats over the years, I’ve seen Marlies help so many of us, touching each of us, opening our eyes in the deep way we need at that moment.
And, of course, you may know of Brenda, who generously donated her kidney last week as part of the program that gave a match to Marlies. This is the link to donate to Brenda's You Caring Fund: https://www.youcaring.com/brendakruller-998849
Big love and blessings to you and yours,
P.S. To learn more about the kidney transplant sharing program that is making this possible for Marlies, watch this beautiful 3 minute video:
Everyone thank you so much for all your prayers, candle light energy and beauty that I received and I think the whole world received really. So we all benefitted that is the beauty of this Journey we're walking it all together.
I am home now very well taken care of and today I can truly say is the first day I feel well. And my friends say I look well too that's truly a compliment.
Let's celebrate Thanksgiving in great gratitude for all that you are and then we together are giving to everyone all beings everywhere this wondrous emptiness filled with love and gratitude.
She is home, doing pretty well. Slow and tender in body and energy.
Marlies will be leaving the hospital this afternoon. She is still very weak and has rounds of pain that are very challenging for her. Lindy thinks that being home with lots of good food and love will get her strength back. She has the most lovely bedroom where the sun is in her room most of the day and a cat that loves her and just lays with her in prayers for hours, that's going to help a lot. Fresh flowers and a lowered bed are waiting for her. A 'food train' has been organized.
Getting stronger and her movements are more confident. Still sleeping a lot and she is periodically upset by the pain. Pain control is improving with energy work, acupressure, people sending healing love and pain pills.
She wasn't eating much untill Pralaya brought a thermos of freshly made delicious organic vegetables and chicken bone broth soup, that perked her up. Good nutritious food helps!
Marlies continues to do well, and her strength is building.
She transitioned from IV pain meds to the oral pain meds, but she does still have periods of pain. She has started to eat and her digestion is good. Her new kidney is functioning well!
A possible Sunday home-coming is being considered. Michael is a true hero, staying with her at night. Brenda went home last night and was doing ok.
Lindy and Michael have been texting the updates and the whole team has been fantastic. We continue to receive emails with well wishes for Marlies and gratitude for the team as well.
This morning's report:
Marlies is doing well and so is her new kidney! Her creatine level (means kidney function) has gone down to normal, which means the kidney is working well. Today she has been unhooked from the oxygen and catheter and is receiving less IV fluids. And the epidural catheter is coming out as well. She has walked a few times now.
Yesterday was more challenging with pain, but the doctor said she has way less pain than is normal for this kind of surgery. Michael was able to do some very light accupressure points for pain, which made a big difference for her.
Last night she slept better than the night before. Later today she will try her first solid food.
With all the doctors coming and going, she has been getting a little over stimulated (sent her blood pressure up).
Because Marlies needs to heal, it is best that she does not receive any visitors in the hospital, thank you for your understanding. Marlies' immune system is very low right now, as is to be expected and all focus is on her healing.
The team of caregivers, 'advocates' are amazing and please know that Marlies is well taken care of.
Michael is with Marlies just about day and night, except for getting some sleep at the nearby airb&b. Marlies walked today and is feeling more challenged than the previous days as the body heals and there's some pain.
She's being a trooper. Brenda is as far as we know also doing better with moments of pain herself that seem pretty difficult. They are on the same hallway about five rooms apart which makes it easy to visit both.
Marlies was read to by Michael slowly all the names of people who sent their well wishes and love. She nodded with each name and sometimes teared up. She thanks everyone and asks to keep sending your prayers.
She says she can feel everyone's prayers and she is in gratitude for them.
Marlies' return home is expected to be Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, and is being prepared.
